Rees Machtemes, P.Eng.

President

Rees is a licensed professional engineer in Alberta with 20 years of industry experience in electric power generation and transmission substation design, food and beverage plant automation, telecommunications, data centres and IT support. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta.

For the five years before he founded OT Engineering, Rees was a Director of Industrial Security at Waterfall Security Solutions and a member of their renowned Industrial Security Team of OT subject matter experts. While not busy traveling and speaking at world-wide industry events, he was the lead threat researcher and co-author for the breakthrough Waterfall/ICSSTRIVE annual OT Threat Report.

Rees writes frequently on the topic of OT/ICS cybersecurity and being solutions-focused, champions Idaho National Lab's (INL) Cyber-Informed Engineering (CIE) program. In addition, he regularly provides advice and commentary to government agencies and standards bodies issuing OT security guidance.
